Plan Your First Visit

 

Visiting a church for the first time can bring plenty of questions: Where do I park? What should I wear? Where do my children go? Will I be expected to do anything?

We want your first visit to Hillside to feel comfortable and uncomplicated. Here is everything you need to know before you arrive.

Location: 621 Twin View Boulevard, Redding, CA, 96003 (Entrance on Valley Ridge Drive)

When You Arrive

We meet in the main worship center, the large building on the right as you enter. 

Parking is available directly adjacent to the building. Enter through the side main entrance where someone from our welcome team will be available to greet you and help you find your way.

​

You won’t be singled out or asked to introduce yourself publicly. We simply want to welcome you, answer any questions, and help you feel at home.

​

Come a few minutes early if you would like to grab a coffee(free!), meet someone, or get settled before worship begins.

​

What About My Children?

We love families and want children to feel safe, welcomed, and included.

If you have questions when you arrive, one of our welcome team members will be happy to guide you through the check-in process.

What Happens During the Service?

Our Sunday gathering usually lasts around 70–80 minutes and has three main parts:

Embrace Intimacy

Approximately 30 minutes of contemporary worship, with prayer available for anyone who would like it.

​

Embrace People

Around 10 minutes to grab some coffee, a donut, meet someone new, catch up with friends, and share life together.

​

Embrace the Word

Approximately 30 minutes of practical, Bible-based teaching to help us grow in our faith and follow Jesus in everyday life.

What Should I Wear?

Wear something that makes you feel comfortable. You will find people dressed in a variety of styles, from casual to more dressed up. There is no expectation to look a certain way.

Do I Have to Participate?

You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable. You can sing during worship, receive prayer, meet people, or simply observe and take everything in.

​

Will People Try to Hug Me?

We do have huggers, hand-shakers, friendly wavers, and people who appreciate a little more personal space. A smile or handshake is always perfectly acceptable. We want to welcome you in a way that feels comfortable to you.

Is the Building Accessible?

We have accessible parking, entrances, restrooms, etc.
